WHAT
  • A two-day convention that will advance a comprehensive, veterans' platform and raise the priority for veterans in our nations' agenda, through active program participation by leaders in the country and by sweeping national media exposure directed largely at Congress.
  • The convention will draw together veterans' leaders and advocates to address the urgent needs of non-profit transitional facilities caring for homeless veterans, returning troops from Iraq and Afghanistan and the stunning absence of military veterans as a top federal budget priority.
WHY
  • About 250,000 men and women who served in American uniform are on our streets tonight, over 4,000 of whom served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
  • About 500,000 of the valiant troops who have returned from combat need top professional counseling only available in about one half of VA Medical Centers.
